About Grandma Hearts

Grandma Hearts was born from something simple and beautiful — a grandma who wanted her grandchildren to know, in their hearts, just how deeply they are loved, because “Every time you see a heart know how much I love you … Grandma.”

Dionne Kelm spent years as an art teacher, nurturing creativity in young minds and helping children see the world through color, imagination, and wonder. But it was becoming a grandma — seven times over — that inspired her most meaningful work yet.

Each Grandma Hearts book is lovingly dedicated to one of her grandchildren, inspired by the real moments they share together: lazy beach days, cozy bedtimes, the sparkle of freshly brushed teeth, and the warmth of a grandma’s hug that makes everything feel right in the world.

“I wrote these books because I wanted every grandchild — mine and yours — to feel seen, loved, and celebrated,” says Dionne. “Childhood is fleeting. These stories are my way of holding onto it, one page at a time.”

Grandma Hearts books are designed to do more than entertain — they help build the rituals and routines that children carry with them for life.
